Mixed Panelization Method: V-Scoring on Sides and Tab Routing on Top/Bottom

#1 Post by dupebrother » 03 Feb 2026, 08:49

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a PCB design where only the top edge has overhanging components, while the other three edges are clear. Because of this, I’d like to apply V-scoring on the left and right edges, and use tab routing on the top and bottom edges.

However, in Tools → Panelizing, it seems I can select only one panelization method at a time (either V-scoring or tab routing). Is there any workaround or recommended approach to combine both methods in the same panel?

Thanks in advance!
Sam

You can use V-scoring, then add board cutouts manually. After that, add mouse bites on the tabs.
There is also an auxiliary library for manually placing panelization elements. It is located in the library group "Patterns - Objects - Panelizing."
