How to create a hole in a footprint

#1 Post by newbadboy » 28 Nov 2025, 08:35

So im trying to create a 0.3mm hole in the footprint thermalpad area. The hole shall be only in the copperplane, not a real hole thru the pcb. As for now i have managed to only create it as a thru hole.

Any tips on how to achive the correct footprint hole?

In the PCB Layout, you can place a via instead of a pad. Before doing this, go to the main menu Route → Via Styles and create new via style with the configuration you need.
By the way, in the Pattern Editor, to create a pad of this shape you can first draw a polygonal figure and then use the “Convert to Pad” command from the context menu.
