copper pour option change

#1 Post by Tomg » 09 May 2025, 13:47

There seems to be no difference between the two copper pour border options "Depending on Board" and "Snap to Board Outline". A more useful function for "Depending on Board" would be to change its name to "Trim to Board Outline". When selected it should trim the part of the copper pour that overlaps the board outline without expanding the pour to a board edge where the pour did not originally exist. For example...

Thank you for the feature request.
"Depending on board" trims or expands copper pour regarding on if you created the copper pour bigger or smaller than board outline.
"Snap to Board Outline" option does the above changes automatically once you edited board outline.

I see no change in behavior between the two existing options. Is there a video that demonstrates the differences?

Hi Tom,

You wrote:
"Trim to Board Outline"

I'm thinking that DipTrace could go one further and implement:
Trim to Board Outline Vertical
and
Trim to Board Outline Horizontal

Just a thought,
