Placing components on back of pcb.

#1 Post by mlgch1 » 26 Oct 2024, 08:51

How do I place an smd component on the back of a pcb with the correct orientation.
I can place a component on the front then "change sides" but this orients it as it appears from the front.
If I try to place a component on the back it actually goes on the front.

You have always a kind of glas view through the pcb.
No way if you are on Top layer (Keypad-T) or Bottom layer (Keypad-B)
If you want to see the Bottom layer as a PCB you turned in your hand,
execute the Mirro funtion (View >> Mirror)

The problem is not what it looks like but how to place a component with the correct orientation.

Sorry, cannot see your issue.
Go on the PCB's Bottom Layer and activate Mirror View.
Then you have the correct orientation and can place your
components just like on a physical PCB's bottom side.
What are you missing moreover?
