DXF import has hexagonal curves instead of rounded

#1 Post by visualearner » 27 Feb 2024, 16:55

Hello,

I'm trying to import a DXF file into Diptrace. The shape has many smooth curved portions to it. However when the import conversion happens the curved lines become a series of straight edges to create a "curved" edge.

How can this be changed to import the DXF image as it is? Any tricks people have learned?

The DXF format is somewhat "generic"not standardized - Many versions, sometimes not even readable in a S/W update from the original source.

Convert to Pad: Import the polygon into a custom pattern library, making sure to select the “Fill Closed Areas” option. Then, right-click on its perimeter and select “Convert to Pad” in the pop-up menu.
Use Compatible Software: Before importing to DipTrace, open the DXF file in a compatible vector graphics software like CorelDraw or Inkscape, clean up the design, and re-export it using a format that maintains curve integrity. Cheap Autodesk Advance Steel 2024.
Adjust Import Settings: When importing, DipTrace might offer settings that allow you to specify how curves should be handled. Look for options related to curve resolution or smoothing and adjust them accordingly.
