The next version of DipTrace will include a feature that allows to select/highlight/center the same component/net/pin in Schematic and PCB Layout at the same time.

Re: Coming soon! DipTrace 5.0 with a Cross Selection
I'm really looking forward to this new feature of DipTrace. If it's possible to highlight and center the same component in the Diagram and PCB Layout at the same time, it would be so convenient and fast.

This is a great feature but I can't get it to work with v5 beta; has anyone had success using this?
Re: Coming soon! DipTrace 5.0 with a Cross Selection
Yes, I got it to work but only when I select a component in PCB it's automatically selected in schematics. The reverse didn't worked for me.
First, open the schematics and the related pcb in their respective modules.
To enable this feature you must go in menu [Edit]->[Cross Selection] and select [Enable Cross Selection] checkbox in the dialogbox you'll get.

Thank you for the report. Please let me know operation system and version of DipTrace (32 or 64 bit) on your machine. Do you have single or multi-monitor configuration?
Also, could you try to open files from other than ...\Documents\DipTrace Beta\Examples\ folder.

Re: Coming soon! DipTrace 5.0 with a Cross Selection
Hi Alex,
I'm using:
- Diptrace x64 beta version,
- on Win10 Pro (version 22H2 build 19045.4170) with English GU
- on a Dell Inspiron 7580 with 16GB/512SSD + an NVIDIA GeForce MX150
- in a Dual Monitor configuration (internal monitor + external one)
I checked again today:
- If I open the example PCB_2.dip + Schematic_2.dch, everything works as expected
- if I open the example CNC_Controller (bot *.dip + *.dch), strange things happens:
PS. I first uncheck CoperPour from the Objects tab at right
- when I select a part in the PCB directly by clicking on it, it selects the schematics one (this is OK)
- if I select a part in Schematics module, it doesn't select the corresponding PCB footprint
- if I select a part in the Design Manager (in PCB module), the footprint will be selected in the PCB but it won't select the schematics part. Same when you select the schematics part via Design Manager.
I didn't changed anything in the examples, just loaded them from freshly installed Diptrace Beta. As for the folder, I installed it directly to D:\DipTraceBeta\ folder, so there are no spaces and I'm admin of my PC, I have no problem with access rights.
The main difference I can see between Schematic_2/PCB_2 and CNC_Controller projects is that the later has multipart schematics symbols in schematics. When I select the part in PCB module, the correct tab is selected in schematic module and correct part is selected, but the otherway nothing works.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more details.
EDIT:
Well, I think I understood the problem. The CNC_Controller project has hierarchical design, so when I select a part in the "driver" section, Diptrace is unable to guess which "instance" has been clicked to select corresponding footprint. If I select a part in the schematics from the "MAIN" tab selection occurs in the PCB module. Another thing in this case, when I select a part in the Design Manager of schematic module, if the part is in the "Main" schematic tab (not the power or driver), the same part will be selected in the design manager of the PCB module but this doesnt select the pattern in the PCB.
Otherwise, other p

Re: Coming soon! DipTrace 5.0 with a Cross Selection
Sure, I'd be happy to help. On my machine, I'm running DipTrace version 4.1.0, and it's the 64-bit version. I'm using a single-monitor configuration. I'll also try opening files from locations other than the default Examples folder and let you know how it goes.Gb Whatsapp Download

I don't know why but your videos are always blurry when I view them?
