Circular PCB with a Notch Cutout

#1 Post by rockinmyshoe » 13 Feb 2024, 18:37

Hello,
I have a circular PCB that I want to insert a notch on the edge of the cutout. 'See image'
Should the board out lines (circle & notch) be merged together? If so how is that done?
Or should I just leave the design as shown assuming the PCB manufacturer would understand what to do.

The picture shows the word "NOTCH" which is just for context in this post.

Thank you.

There are at least two ways you can handle this. Either draw the board outline with a notch using a separate 2D program, save as a DXF file and import it into the Board Outline layer; or make sure the notch is a closed polygon (no gaps) and place it on the Board Cutout layer (not the Board Outline layer) as shown below...

Thank you for the suggestions.
I'll try and work through them both and see what results I get.
