Laying out a Force Sensing Resistor (FSR)

#1 Post by philrilinger » 30 Oct 2023, 22:44

Need help laying out a force sensing resistor that is round. Not sure how to proceed ! I guess I can choose a 2 pin surface mount variable resistor for the schematic symbol but how do I create the pcb footprint for this beast ? Or do I draw this part in a cad program and save as dxf file and import it into diptrace ?

You can create a custom footprint in Pattern Editor. Just create a custom pattern library (or open existing one) and add a pattern to the library. You can read more how to do it in DipTrace tutorial.
