No Net Highlighting in Mirror Mode

#1 Post by amshh » 11 Oct 2017, 07:48

Hello Diptrace Team!
If I choose "Highlight Net" in Layout Editor, the net will be displayed dashed. OK, kind of "highlighting"...
But if I then choose "Mirror", the highlighting disappears. I returns when I choose "Mirror" again....
and so on.
Can you verify this?
Regards
Andree

Yeah, it looks like "Highlight Net" needs a little more work as it also throws parts of the highlighted trace off the PCB when mirrored. See the attached video contained in the zip folder below...

p.s. I just added a demonstration PCB file.

Hi

Has this been fixed? Because I have a PCB in Mirror mode, then select Highlight Net and the Highlight is offset.

Thanks

It appears to be working fine for me in v4.1.2.0.

This is why I like this forum, people do things I don't use and I have to find out why. I don't use mirroring since all my final work is checked at the Gerber level since that is what the board is made from. I did look at the use of mirroring in Print Preview, good job on that interface DT, the scaling, move, stretch all work into a very flexible user interface but since I no longer use my circuit board printer I've never used printing from DipTrace.
I couldn't find any use of the Mirror function for anything else than printing.

When looking at the Bottom layer it helps to flip the view to make sure all of the reference designators for back-loaded components have the correct orientation. For me, it clears up any visual confusion. I assigned the hotkey combination "[Shift]" + "f" to the Mirror command to make this task easy. The annunciator at the bottom-right of the Design Area will confirm whether or not the view is mirrored.
