I installed the latest automatic Wine update (7.16) into Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS yesterday.
DipTrace works but, if you bring up *any* file selection box, it is not correctly displayed (everything but the file list is black), and the buttons don't work, and it is impossible to dismiss.
This appears to affect ALL DipTrace apps when they use a file-list dialog.
This seriously breaks usability.
Prior to Wine 7.16, everything appeared to work correctly (apart from dialog boxes being pushed lower in the "stack" than the main window, if the main window was backgrounded to another app - but that's work-around-able).
Bug report of a different app displaying an identical issue (check this guy's screen shots of the file dialog - that's exactly what happens in DipTrace too):
https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=138174
Have filed Wine bug report:
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53631
I strongly advise anyone using DipTrace under Wine to avoid upgrading to 7.16
You can, partially, work around this issue by launching/copying/renaming files from outside DipTrace - but if you bring up a file dialog from within DipTrace - then you're stuck!
Wine 7.16 breaks ALL FILE DIALOGS in DipTrace.
Re: Wine 7.16 breaks ALL FILE DIALOGS in DipTrace.
We strongly recommend to use stable version of Wine (7.0 is the latest stable at the moment) and install 32-bit version of DipTrace. Wine 7.16 is development version for now and it may have some issues.
Re: Wine 7.16 breaks ALL FILE DIALOGS in DipTrace.
Same bug as 7.16 persists in Wine 7.17
Unfortunately Wine Stable is not available for Ubuntu 22.04 (Jellyfish): https://wine.htmlvalidator.com/install- ... 22.04.html
I appreciate this is not a DipTrace issue - but others may be caught in the same loop with Wine.

wine-7.0.1 stable is released and now supports Ubuntu 22.04 - and does not have the above bug.
Wine bug 53631 appears to be resolved, and should shortly appear in wine staging (possibly wine-7.21 (Staging)), but is still affecting wine-7.20 (Staging)
