Layer properties bug

#1 Post by atomitech » 06 Oct 2021, 07:04

In the attached screenshot, having opened properties for the layers and changing a non-signal layer from Bottom to Top, the Close button doesn't work.

Windows chimes as-if there's another modal opened behind the Diptrace PCB window. Only way out of this is to use Taskmanager to shutdown Diptrace PCB.

Steps just before the bug occurred:

Opened 2nd instance of PCB and copy/pasted elements into 1st instance of PCB.
To note- the copied element was one line of vector text, and was in a new layer (ie. the layer didn't exist in 1st instance, so the copy/paste action created the layer).
Almost immediately after the copy/paste, I either double-clicked (or right clicked) the new layer name, and changed the side.

This might help. Opened VS debugger and the attached error captured when clicking the layer modal "Close" button.

Exception thrown at 0x0000000000407D7F in Pcb.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x0000000014014C40.

Thank you for the report. We have tried but can't reproduce the problem. Are you able to repeat the steps and get the same error? If so, could you please send both files to us for verification (either to DipTrace support or upload on the forum).

Hello

I can tell you that I get a similar "freeze" of my file. I can't say that it's the same scenario. I'd have to duplicate the process but I don't have the time at the moment. I'll make a effort to try to reconstruct it sometime soon.
