Tool For Aligning Custom Pad with Mask

#1 Post by ReverseEMF » 23 Apr 2020, 14:10

Just finished designing a somewhat complex pad [TSON for a MOSFET], and wound up with a mask/pad offset. The only remedy appears to be to hand calculate the point transformations needed to gain the proper alignment. It would be great if some way existed to translate the points on a polygon, or realign the mask, or center the polygon, or simply a tool that magically does this alignment. If any of this already exist, does anyone know where to look?

Here are some screen shots:

If left to evolution, would this PCB ever design itself, and what would the lead time be on that?

Whoa...OK, they magically aligned! Never mind!

Anybody know what causes that to happen? I have a new case, and I'm poking at it, trying to make it happen, and so far, no joy.

Never mind, again. I reopened the Properties dialog, closed it, and voila!
