Where are the patterns stored

#1 Post by Markus S. » 28 Feb 2021, 01:08

I import components using LibraryLoader: Download Model and import from DipTrace-Component editor (Library->Import->DipTrae ASCII (.asc),...and so on).
This works very well.
But: I also want to attach a 3d .stp model to the pattern. But I can't find the pattern. I see it in "Component Properties -> Pattern.." (in this case "SOT96P237X111-3N"). If I open DipTrace Pattern Editor and use Pattern Tool -> Find Pattern, type in the name there will be noting listed.
Where ist the pattern stored and how can I attach the 3d model?

Been there:
Open pattern editor and click Pattern/Insert from another Library - Select the component library that has the Component with the pattern, import it, add the 3D to the pattern, save it and in component editor update the component pattern.
Done!

When this happened to me, I manually downloaded the pattern. Looks like I wont have to do that anymore.

I'll remember that the next time I run into the same situation again. Thanks Kevin.

That was another of the many tomg 'tips' who as far as I can tell doesn't sleep, works with Diptrace 7/24 and has a second screen open with this forum auto refreshing looking for challenges... :)

Sometimes I sleep, but not always. This is my attempt at keeping what's left of my semi-ancient brain in reasonable working order.
