Running diptrace 3.3.1.3
I have a component (U-Blox F9P GNSS module) with a lot of exposed pads on the bottom and "reserved" pins.
the exposed pads serve no function other than thermal pads.
Drawing the component in Diptrace results in a lot of unneeded pins and a huge component.
Is there a better way resulting in:
- all exosed pads are still seen as pads by diptrace (thus: solder resist in between, smd stencil correct,...)
- something like one pin in the schematic/component that corresponds to all exposed pads.
I get an error message when inserting this as image, so this is a direct link...
I'd like to connect one pin to GND in my schematic and have Diptrace understand that all pads should be connected to GND...
Is there an option like this (or another good option)?

1) Split the component into two parts.
2) Put all but one of the "common" and all other unwanted pins on part #2.
3) Make sure that all of the necessary pins, including the remaining "common" pin, are in part #1.
4) Internally connect all of the "common" pins that should be connected to each other using the Attached Pattern dialog window (drag connection lines between the desired pads) and resave the library.
5) Place part #1 into the schematic, but not part #2.

Took me some time to figure it out with your guidelines as I never split a component into parts before. I wonder what other purposes this splitting into parts could serve...
