Import DXF pattern

#1 Post by KevinA » 22 Dec 2015, 10:07

I made a land pattern and exported it as layer 0 to DXF. From DT Pattern/Import from DXF I load the pattern and convert layer 0 to Top Pads and click Import but no new layer is added in my Layers window and nothing is displayed. I can import the pattern to other layers and they are displayed:

How do I get the land pattern to load into TOP LAYER?

Your file pad14.dxf shows as a single board outline drawing. Even so, I was able to import it into the Top Pads layer as a single pad. I did not see a drawing of 14 pads. Is there something I'm missing?

Don't look at the right Layers panel which shows Layer3,4,8, they are useless feature .
Seems like you already loaded them as 'Top signal' shape , the color of the pads is a give away. Just select all pads ,right click 'Convert to Pad' and Right click again select "Pad Array Number..." to arrange the pad numbers if needed.

Thanks @MonGater
It's not a fast learning process but at least I've finally figured out, sort of, the Libraries and moving patterns/components around.

Have you seen any dialog bx when you import the DFX file? Convert the DFX layer to top layer and enable Fill closed areas option.
