shapes (question of a rookie)

#1 Post by dippel59 » 18 Mar 2021, 06:20

Hello,

normally I place resistors and other components inside the board, draw manually traces and then make ground traces wider by shapes.

Is it mandatory to place shapes on the assembly layer?

Kind regards

You can make ground traces wider in the following way. Right click on a trace and select "Trace Width" from submenu. Then choose new width from available trace templates or specify custom width.
Using shapes instead traces is not efficient. Shapes on the assembly layer won't help you at all.
