Please make this not checked by default. Literally nobody wants the part labels to rotate. In fact, most layout design reviews I have been in have a check to make sure the part labels have only two possible orientations.

It looks like this issue was resolved for the PCB Layout editor but not the Schematic editor in 4.2 - is that correct?

Makes even less sense on a schematic to have upside down idents. Is this an issue that is still on going?

There is nothing to resolve in Schematic editor because part marking orientation did not changed in version 4. Part marking has two possible orientations in Schematic ( horizontal and vertical), it can't be rotated upside down.

Hi Alex,

Some parts can only be oriented in two ways, but other (some nets from the Components library for example) can go any way. If you want to rotate these parts without rotating the part marking you have to flip it - which is a bit of a pain.

Thanks

This is the case for components with custom positions of component marking, i.e. you moved them with F10 tool.
