Board size

#1 Post by WA2SQQ » 03 Aug 2022, 13:01

Likely a simple operation, but I can’t figure it out. After I do the schematic capture, how can I predefine the pcb board size? I was told to just drag the corners, but that doesn’t always give you the precise dimension. There has to be some way to just type in the desired dimension. I apologize, I’m a definite newbie!

I appreciate the fast response, and I apologize, but the concept of board points makes no sense to me. I entered x and y values of 2, which I assume should create a 2” square pcb. I’m sure I’m not understand the concept of board points. Is there perhaps a video somewhere?

My goal is to define the board size before I start to physically arrange the components.

Sorry for the delayed response.
In that same Board dialog window (main menu: Objects > Board Points...) simply enable the [x]Create Rectangular Board option and enter the size of the board in the "Width:" and "Height:" boxes...

To change units on the fly, hold down the [Shift] key and press "u". This will allow you to toggle the units between millimeters, inches and mils.
