Create schematics from existing PCB Layout?

#1 Post by kepiro » 20 Sep 2019, 02:37

Hi Experts,

could somebody tell me please is there a possibility to create a schematics from an existing PCB layout?
(the opposite of the command Convert to PCB)

I have just the finished PCB Layout but not the schematics.

Thanks,
Stefan

It's not possible in the current version of DipTrace. There is a "Back Annotate" tool in the Schematic Editor, but that only updates a few properties in preexisting schematics.

Hi Tom,
thanks for your explanation!
I know now it is not possible, I have to stop looking for.
Have a nice day!

Looks like "Back Annotate" only updates pre-existed components parameters. If I add a new component in layout, I don't see that in schematics.

New components are normally added to the schematic and then propagated to the PCB layout from there. In DipTrace (and historically) the schematic drives the layout.
