attaching files to posts

#1 Post by scfaria » 27 May 2021, 06:15

I've been on this forum and have attached files on several of my posts. The method that I have been using was to take a snippet of the board layout and save it as a .png file. All went well when I attached it. Then I got ambitious today and while in the PCB Layout tool, I took a view of my layout and did a 'save as' which put the xxxx.dip into a folder for saving, and I then made a post and attached the .dip file. The forum then complains that the file cannot be loaded! I don't mind taking a snippet and saving it as a .png file, but I did find it rather strange that the file that DipTrace made could not be used as an attachment to a post.

It will accept the "*.dip" file if it is in a compressed folder.

I guess I'll have to zip it up!
