Stand-alone router?

#1 Post by eqc1975 » 25 Feb 2021, 08:32

My company owns, and uses, proprietary PCB design software. The software does not include an auto-router. The software can produce a .DSN file that we have been importing into the Allegro specctra auto-router. We can then take the resulting .SES or .RTE files and merge the routes into a project.

My question is...can the DipTrace auto-router be used this way? Will it allow me to import a DSN file, route and export a SES or RTE file without having designed the board with DipTrace?

Thanks.

I've never used it, but there does appear to be a path...

Give it a try in the "Trial" version to see if it works for you.

If you want to use DipTrace as autorouter for your PCB design software, that is not possible. DipTrace can export DSN file and import back SES file. If I understood correctly, you need opposite but that is not supported.
