Advice for graphics card settings
Advice for graphics card settings
With all the amazing new graphics in version 4, is there any advice for setting up rendering, 3D, and all the many other settings in Windows or the graphics card (example: NVidia control panel) to boost performance / etc.. ?
Also related to that, does Diptrace 4 make use of multi-cores, and are there any cpu settings that might be considered for performance benefit ?

Re: Advice for graphics card settings
Use either OpenGL or Direct3D for better performance. We keep WindowsGDI mode for compatibility only.
We can't suggest graphics card but there is no reason to spend money on professional card. Good "gaming" card is enough.
DipTrace uses multi-cores where possible. Some functions can be divided to threads and the software will use all cores. Other functions use single core.

Re: Advice for graphics card settings
Sorry to revive this thread but i have a new evga 3070 GPU and i have a slow experience when i move things around as soon as the board is starting to be somewhat more complex with the copper pour enabled.
I tried the 3 modes in graphics settings.
Why is it so slow feeling when i can play games at 60fps that looks 100 times better than this?
Also you say it uses multithread but even when i run the autorouter it just uses 10% max cpu, so even if its multithread... doesnt make a difference, i waited 2 hours today for the multithread to finish on a I7 7700k
Any ideas how i can improove the visual to be smoother and quicker when i move around the board at least ?

1. Purchase new computer: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... processors
i7 7th gen not supported on Windows 11
Remove RXT3070 and send it to me! Seems the only ones left are over $2K if you can find them.
It appears Microsoft is following Google with their Chromebook CPU obsolescence, I mean, even Raspberry PI OS is now 64bit! And I still have a CNC machine driven with XP.

Fubar?
I tried again today with opengl mode in diptrace and its fine, it's similar to 10 FPS in a game but it works... I'm not sure why i was having a lot worse performance yesterday.

In addition to the phrase "i7 7th gen not supported on Windows 11". It is indeed not supported, but not on all devices. Check next one source: https://www.hardwaretimes.com/windows-11-will-work-on-1st-gen-ryzen-and-intel-6th-7th-gen-processors-via-iso-file-no-additional-workaround-needed/website I found this article too interesting.
