Sometimes when I move a trace between layers, a trace via is created in the middle of the component pad which shorts to adjacent pads. I can't delete it or move it which makes it impossible to put signals on different layers. What's going on? I'm just starting to try to use multiple layers and Diptrace doesn't seem very friendly when it comes to using multiple layers.
The software creates vias where they are necessary when you move traces between layers. For example, if a trace goes to SMD pad and you move the trace to different layer the software has to create via in order to keep the pad and the trace connected. But you should be able to move the via.
