I'm block printing a bunch of scarves. I realized that the type of paper I was printing on had a big impact on the print quality. What kind of foundation are you using to keep your cloth in place? I made entire prints with no striations using a piece of rubber floor foam (picture a kid's room)!
Is it conceivable that your fabric has cardboard behind it? This is what the pattern reveals about fashion to me.
If you're laying the fabric on the design, like I suggested, use something with give and flip it over and push it down. I'm not sure how the pressure would work because your print is larger than mine, but maybe place a book over it and press down?
