loop analysis

#1 Post by uglyoldbob » 04 Jun 2018, 01:44

I would like to be able to view a loop on a routed pcb layout.
For instance I imagine a list of loops might be created with the schematic. T1 pin 2, R5 pin 2, R5 pin3, D3 pin 1, D3 pin2, T1 Pin 1 might form a single loop and assigned a name of Loop1.
Then in the pcb layout, you could isolate and view only Loop1 of what is layed out.
I hope this makes sense.

As far as I can tell you have a couple of 'manual' options.

In the PCB Editor:

1) Press and hold the 'Ctl' key then Left click on at least one trace in each net in the loop. There are 3 nets.
2) Right click on one of the highlighted traces and select 'Highlight Net' to highlight the whole loop.

-or-

1) Press and hold the 'Ctl' key then Left click on each and every trace segment in the loop to select all traces in the loop.
2) Right click on one of those selected traces and select "Trace Color' then change to a unique color.
