Re: Sort components by ref designator in layout
Not that I am aware of (could be wrong, of course). The following procedure might get you close to what you want, but be warned that a consequence of carrying it out will result in the renumbering of all same-prefix reference designators in both the schematic and PCB... 1) In the main menu of the PC...

Re: How to re-generate de Design Cache with actual components
Updated 28 December 2023 There might be an easy and straight-forward way to regenerate the design cache, but I'm not aware of it. In the meantime, try the method below (back up your files first just in case things go awry)... 1) Make sure all layers are visible/active if you are working in the PCB ...

Re: Internal open areas getting filled in on DXF import?
I see that you are trying to convert the DXF layer to " Top Pads ". That has never worked for me when I've tried it. I normally convert to " Top "... im2.png You might also consider setting the Import Mode to " Add " if you want to avoid creating an entirely new layout.

Re: Internal open areas getting filled in on DXF import?
First, make sure both the " [x]Fill closed areas " and " [x]Embedded Polygons " options are enabled. The following example shows how these options can affect the result... idxf.png If that doesn't help, zoom in to your original drawing and look for any gaps between elements that ...

Re: How do you "split" a wire?
First method... * Add a node or two (right-click on the wire and select " Add Node "; or just place the cursor over the desired location and hit " n "). You might have to temporarily turn off the snap to get the exact location(s) needed. Now right-click in the middle of the new w...

Re: Can multi-part chips be spread across multiple sheets?
...Does Diptrace 4.3 allow breaking up of a multiple part logic chip across multiple sheets?... Yes. See " Designing a multi-part component " in the ( DipTrace 4.3 ) tutorial. To find the first page... 1) Open the tutorial: main menu > " Help " > " DipTrace Tutorial "....
