Re: [Struggling Noob] Repeating group/block layout in PCB? H

I don't think there is a way to do that in the PCB editor. If there is I'd like to know also.

Re: Help with text please ...

The text was most likely placed on a layer other than your current layer. The placement layer is controlled by a drop down on the top toolbar. Cycle through your layers and see which one lets you select the text. Also, hit escape a couple of times to make sure you are out of "place text" mode. You c...

Re: Copper and Silk in step export

Sometimes it is helpful to have the silkscreen and text of the PCB show up for use in product presentations, manuals, etc. However, I do imagine the step file size would get quite large if the text and traces were all rendered as solids. I use SolidWorks for mechanical CAD. It allows graphics files ...

Re: trying to import IGS mjodels totally screws everything u

I downloaded your iges file and made a library component and pattern from it. The model imported into the pattern editor correctly and once I adjusted the model's position it looked good. I was able to place the component on a PCB and successfully had it display in 3d. I didn't experience the issues...

Wire Entry Direction in Place Bus

Is there a way to control which direction the individual wires enter a bus?
In the example below I would prefer the wires enter the bus by angling to the right rather than to the left.

Re: Highlight trace (net) looses net connection

Don't delete the routed traces, that deletes the net also. Right click and select "unroute trace" from the context menu instead. That will preserve the connection and the rats nest.

Re: 3D Step File

I would like to encourage the addition of STEP export of the 3D PCB render from Diptrace. The VRML export is not optimally usable in a true 3D design CAD program such as Solidworks and it generates large files that negatively affect performance. What I've been doing for simpler boards is to screen c...

Non-Perspective Option in 3D View

The addition of the 3d view in DipTrace, along with the ability to export the 3d geometry is a great feature. If I orient the 3d view in DipTrace to get a top down view of the PCB there is a perspective effect that shows shadows in any holes present in the PCB. Solidworks has the capability to apply...

Re: line/backround colors

I appear to have jumped to an erroneous conclusion in my last post. I've since discovered that if I set the color of these lines to black in the schematic they will show up as white against my black background and also show up as black in print preview and the saved graphic image which is just what ...

Re: line/backround colors

In my case it appears that the line objects in the schematic module are not honoring the colors selected in print preview or they are not part of any of the groups that allow the color to be set. Notice the brackets grouping the connector pins on the schematic. If I set the lines as white they don't...
