Re: Create schematics from existing PCB Layout?

New components are normally added to the schematic and then propagated to the PCB layout from there. In DipTrace (and historically) the schematic drives the layout.

Re: Proper PDF export (with searchable text etc.)

I can't confirm this for the latest version of DipTrace at the moment, but I believe that if a TrueType font is used in the schematic, and then the schematic is printed to PDF, the resultant document should be searchable. Here is an earlier thread on the subject: https://diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic...

Re: Problem with Title Blocks

As a workaround use the DipTrace drawing tools to create title blocks.
Here is an old thread that discusses the issue:

Re: 45 degree wires in schematic?

It would be helpful not to limit the schematic wire angles to 45 degrees. For some analog designs it is not unusual to indicate a single point connection for multiple wires. So having a selectable snap, or no snap, for the angles would be preferred.

Re: How do you make libraries that work across computers?

Yet another approach if all users are on the same network:
Place the libraries on a shared drive (in my case a Synology DS220j) and map to that drive on each computer.

Re: Copper pour thermals disregard clearance

What I usually do in cases like this is to right click on the pad and in "Thermal Settings" select 45degs for the spokes.

Re: Stopping the router from running tracks under an IC ?

From the drawing tools icon in the menu bar select a shape. I selected "Filled Rectangle" for this example. FILLED_RECT.jpg Draw the shape on the PCB where it needs to be. DRAW_RECT.jpg Right click on the shape and select "Properties" from the context menu. In the "Type:" drop down select "Route Ke...

Re: Partial copper fill with setback from board edge?

Place a route keepout over the area to exclude from the copper pour. I haven't found another method so far.

Re: Free moving component characters

Typically, neither of those items are included on the PCB or Schematic
To clarify, the manufacturer's part numbers for active devices and semiconductors are nearly always shown on the schematic. I should have limited that statement to the PCB layout.
