Re: Copper Pour Board Edge Clearance
Thanks Tomg. That sounds like a better way than manually going along the board edge. I'll give it try!

Copper Pour Board Edge Clearance
All, I would like to make a copper pour that does not take up the entire PCB. So using the "Depending on Board" setting will not work. But I also would like the copper pour to maintain a certain clearance from the PCB edge. I can't seem to find a setting that allows you to have a Boarder C...

Design Rule For "Acid Traps"
Is there a way to set up DRCs to catch things like the image below? Capture.PNG Generally, I do not allow for angles less than 90 deg like this. I know "Acid Traps" may be a thing of the past. But I still consider this a bad practice when it's this small. Let me know if you all have a diff...

Re: Vendor complaining about silk over pad
Thanks again!
I seen that setting too. Don't know why I didn't put 2 and 2 together to adjust the setting. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Re: Via To Via DRC
You are absolutely right.
Both those NETs for those vias were under the same Net Class with 5mil clearance and the "Use Clearance in DRC" box was checked.
All is well now.
Thanks for the help.

Vendor complaining about silk over pad
I have an issue with my vendor saying that the gerbers I sent in have solder mask over pads. But the DRC checks do not yell at me in Diptrace. I do have the "Check Silk Over Pads" DRC rule enabled and is set to 0 clearance. Below is an image of the one of the areas they are saying is in vi...

Via To Via DRC
I'm having an issue with the DRC rules. My rules have a 7mil setting for via to via clearance Rules.PNG Measuring the distance between two vias shows it's defiantly less than 7mil. Using the measuring tool, see the white line. ViaDistanceMeasure.PNG But the DRC does not yell at me. "No Errors F...

Re: Adding part to component does not show up in schematic
The problem with placing a completely new part using "disconnect wires" is that when you update the PCB layout via schematic, the part is new and completely un-routes the part and puts it to the side. Re-routing a 180pin BGA is not going to be an option. Unless there is a solution to preve...

Adding part to component does not show up in schematic
Hello, When making a multi-part component. In my case it had 13 parts. This part was used in the design and is all wired up on schematic and PCB. I wanted to split the component up more to 14 parts. So I added the 14th part in component editor and saved. When I go back to the schematic and click &qu...

Component Center For Pick-n-Place
I create all components with the origin at the center. But some components i'm not sure where to put the center of the component. What if there is a non-symmetric component and i'm not sure of the center? Do I just give a best guess? If it's wrong would the assembly most likely catch it? Are pick an...
