Re: Disable Thermals for Pour

...Is there a way to turn them off for the whole copper pour, so only manual connections exists to all pads?... Not that I can see. I think you will have to try the following procedure, but be ready to use " Undo " just in case things go awry... 1) Select all ( Ctrl + A ), right-click on one of the...

Re: Place new Dimension: units always inches

DipTrace allows you to set the default dimension units to be different from the "Common" setting if needed.
After enabling the Dimension tool use the Properties panel on the right side of the screen to make your
selection and DipTrace will remember it...

Re: Design Rule For "Acid Traps"

...Is there a way to set up DRCs to catch things like the image below?... Not in DipTrace v4.1.3.1 . The software feature you are looking for is called a " DFM check " ( D esign F or M anufacturability) which can probably be found in much more expensive EDA programs. The " eyeball/brain " tool is f...

Re: Find right pattern for PVG5A potentiometer

In DipTrace v4.1.3.0 the component named " PVG5A104C03 " has a pattern named " MURATA_PVG5A "... PVG5A.png Because the Pattern Editor shows that the pattern named " MURATA_PVG5A " has its 3D model dynamically generated using the " By Component Outline " option it is my assumption that a permanent 3D...

Courtyard filled drawing object bug

To restrict component placement from a specified area on the PCB requires the placement of an independent Courtyard drawing object. As expected, the empty version (outline only) of the Courtyard drawing object triggers DRC errors when components touch its boundary lines, but it does not detect any c...

Re: Add option for Keepout DRC for Components

Until the DipTrace developers add that option, there is a workaround you could try using that might help automatically detect component intrusions ( v4.1.3.0 ). Place a solid Courtyard drawing object the same size and shape on top of the Route Keepout object. For some unknown reason the solid courty...
