Pattern Editor DXF import bug

(DipTrace v4.3.0.4 ) A DXF file named " Original.dxf " was exported (AutoCAD 2018 format) from a drawing created in Alibre Design specifically for this post. The Alibre Design drawing was carefully constructed with straight lines and arcs, employing tangent constraints and frequent error-checking wi...

Re: DXF Import looses resolution

Try the following to see if things improve... In your MCAD program, instead of drawing both sides of the "trace" (shape outline), draw a single line to represent the centerline of the trace. This should make it easier to draw the entire antenna. Use only straight lines and arcs (the fillet tool help...

Re: min ring

...What does the DRC Error "Min Ring" mean?... It refers to the minimum allowed width of the pad's ring, or "donut", that surrounds a plated-through hole. See this link for an explanation of annular rings - https://www.protoexpress.com/blog/dont-let-annular-rings-drive-you-crazy/ This particular ru...

Re: Component footpront pad rotation

1) Create a circular pattern with the desired pad shapes. The following example has a circular pattern with a 4mm radius and 8 evenly-spaced oval/slotted through-hole pads... cp1.png 2) Select/highlight all pads, right-click on pad 1 and choose " Radial Placement " in the context menu to bring up t...

Re: Replacing component in pcb layout

Schematic Editor 1) Replace the component, make sure all connections are where they should be and run the "ERC" verification test. If it passes, resave the schematic. PCB Layout editor 1) Right-click on the old component and select " Unroute Traces " in the context menu. I like to do this as a prec...

Re: DDR ram routing

Routing a time-constrained bus consisting of three or more nets in DipTrace will be a manual process.
If you require lots of automation for this process (see this example - https://youtu.be/4rfGa7eUM0w?t=147), you will need to use one of the more expensive programs.
