It's good to see a company that actually tries to understand the issues their customers are having.
Watching with interest.

Re: Upgrading v3.3 to 4.2
Thanks for the info. I have a full license but have retired so the business has no income for 2022 so I can't justify the extra money. I will take Edgar's advice and stick with the very stable v3.

Upgrading v3.3 to 4.2
I've held off doing the upgrade and I am currently still running on a full 3.3 license. I am considering the upgrade so a couple of quick questions: 1. How far off is vn 5.0 and, if it's close should I hold off doing the upgrade? I don't want to pay 25% and then another 25% in a few months. 2. What ...

Re: File blocked from changes
I recently ran into this issue (again) with Diptrace 3.3.1.2 In Windows 10 Explorer you now have to go to View > Options> Change Folder and Search Options. Under the View tab, find and uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files' options and override the warnings as you apply and get out of that ...

Add Pads to inner layers
A client is asking for changes to my 10 layer design to allow back drilling to effect lower cost of manufacturing. There are 4 x layer 1-3 vias and 4 x layer 3-10 vias. Because there are so few blind vias, the PCB manufacturer is proposing to cheapen the cost of production by making the blind vias a...

Export N/C Drill files for Blind Vias - Odd behavior
Vn 3.3.1.3 It's a 10 layer design and, apart from 1,000s of through-plated vias, there are plated blind vias that go 1-3 and 3-10. When I File > Export > N/C Drill and select plated holes, I get the via files I expected for the blind vias but, when I select non-plated holes I get the normal non plat...

Gerber X2 vs Old Gerber Outputs
I've exported many boards to Gerber format and I've had to include the plated and non-plated hole files as an additional step then add those drill files into the zip file I send to the board house.
If I export as Gerber X2, do I need to also export the drill files like before?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Single schematic, multiple PCB layouts
Wow! That works as you described it. One detail nit pick is that step 6 should be... 6. select everything, right click and select Group (or press Ctrl + G) It was also VERY useful to select (in my case) 1 column and 9 rows with 0 mm column shift and 26 mm row shift because, in my PCB, I'd done 1 lay...

Single schematic, multiple PCB layouts
I have a client who wants me to take a single (simple 3 Op Amp) schematic and lay it out in 9 different ways on the same PCB for manufacture and evaluation purposes - mainly testing to get rid of a crosstalk issue. I could copy the design sheet 8 times but is there any way to either: 1. Put multiple...
