Re: DipTrace Team has the question to our users
I would like to see every part used on an Arduino Uno in the library -- no exceptions. (the Arduino is an Open-source hardware board, and they provide schematics, etc, so you can build your own) This would be a nice move from a marketing standpoint; there are a lot of webpages devoted to the Arduino...

Re: Anti-Spam tools that you should consider using
(Background for those following along at home: A while back I volunteered to check the moderation queue on weekends so that a new user posting late Friday won't have to wait until Monday to get his post approved.) I have noticed a growing number of robot spammers who keep registering new usernames. ...

Re: DipTrace comparison
How does it compare to more well known products? I have tried just about every PCB/Schematic package that has an evaluation or freeware version. I am quite experienced in board design - I was a certified OrCad trainer back when OrCad ran on DOS, and I taught classes in UltiBoard. Of all the product...

Re: End wire or bus by double clicking, start wire by hotkey
I would add the following to this request: Multiple actions on one hot key. I would like to hit a single key and place a resistor, rotate it, and move the reference designator. This implies being able to put mouse moves on a hot key. The DOS version of OrCad got this right; macro start, record all k...

Re: Need Component MicroChip 18F25K22
I find the following scheme to work quite well: I have four classes of libraries First are the libraries that come with diptrace. I never edit them or add delete parts. I assume that whenever I update diptrace, some of those parts will change, more parts will be added, etc. Second I have the librari...

Re: 2.1.9.2 Beta
That's a really good tip. Thanks!
It would be nice if all these tips and workarounds were gathered in one place. Perhaps a Wiki?

A good multilevel undo really helps in situations like that.EEnh wrote: In lots of other CAD packages you need to use ctrl-enter and if you forget, you get to start over again.

Re: Better routing and part placement
One thing I would really like to see is an autoplacement that roughly mirrors the schematic - resistors at the upper left of the schematic placed at the upper left of the PCB, etc. Obviously it can't do this everywhere (consider a TTL hex inverter used in six different sections) but it would help a ...

Re: Pin/gate swap
I suspect that it will be a bit complicated when swapping pin assignments on groups of logic gates... Stewart It's actually pretty easy. I recently did a bunch of swapping on a board that was driving a bunch of 7-segement LED displays with HC octal latches, and I was able to completely redo the pin...
