Re: Ground Planes, Copper Pour, and Ratlines question

That is a very useful function, but hidden for newcomers.

Wouldn't it be better to run it automatically at key points in the design (such as before exporting)?

Re: change refdes font?

> Changing RefDes font size separately for custom components is not possible yet, however we will consider this for the next update. However I do not guarantee we will add it in shortly, as the list of features is quite big. It has now been over 9 years (!) - has this been added yet? Every label has...

Re: How to refresh edited patterns in component library

Even if that is a good idea for some use-cases, we shouldn't be *forced* to manually click on dozens (or hundreds) of components and select their patterns again, then close the dialog, etc., just to update their patterns. Can you supply an automated way of updating component patterns after editing t...

Re: Resize Hierarchy Blocks

Hi, Has there been an update to this post? Have the features been implemented after six years? I'm currently unable to resize my hierarchical blocks or any blocks for that matter. I can see the box corner highlights. But when I try to click and expand the corner blocks, they just disappear. Thanks ...

Part Definition?

There are a large number of parts in the DipTrace components database. But I still spend the majority of my schematic capture time just searching for, and creating new parts. It's extremely time-consuming. In many cases, it might be faster to create footprints with a small #pins from scratch, rather...

Slow Part Searches

Searching for parts takes several minutes just to find out it isn't there (several seconds for each attempt). Would you consider creating an index that can be searched within the time it takes to type a single keystroke (20ms)? There may be other innovative ways of displaying the parts, as well. Thi...

Re: Updating Bom

Has this been implemented? It's been 6 more years... The BOM table takes quite a bit of manual effort to set up and generate. To have to go through that each time a change is made to a part is tedious at the least. We rely on the BOM being accurate after placing it. This is a useful table to have. A...

The handles are shown, but attempting to drag them deselects the block.

Re: Reuse of existing Design. Hierarchy blocks management

Alex, has this been improved in the past 9 years since you wrote this? Back-propagating the PCB changes to the Schematic is essential. So DipTrace should do whatever it can to figure out what we mean and keep that working. But defining reusable hierarchical components is also essential for maintenan...

Duplicate Bus Names?

Whenever I add a connection (wire) from a new component pin to a bus, and choose the "3.3Vdc (global)" name from the list, it seems to work, but creates a duplicate name in the bus with only that single pin connected! What causes this? I can manually get Properties on that wire, then re-map "By Name...
