Re: Pour suggestions +

I agree with all those comments, especially the "update all pours" button. Original poster: you might check out "AutoHotkey," a free program that lets you do some pretty fancy things with single keystrokes. I have a rather simple file of hotkeys that has saved me probably hours in the layout I'm cur...

Re: Attaching lone pins to named net

Yes, the cross-probing would be very helpful sometimes. In general, a tighter link between the schematic application and the layout application would be helpful. I don't have any trouble using it like it is now, but I would appreciate the benefits, when you are able to put them in.

Attaching lone pins to named net

I find the feature of being able to assign a unique color to a net very useful in figuring out routing during layout. Right now, I am looking at how to add some functionality to a design, and on an FPGA package, I have a choice among several pins (BGA balls) for the signals. I would like to highligh...

Re: Windowed paste mask?

It's a pain in the tail, but I just copied the pattern into a new one in the pattern editor, and created the proper paste layer. Not much fun if you have a lot of them to do. I'll be happy to hear that there is an automated way to do it!

Re: Connecting top+bottom pours to a specific pad

Simple trick for now would be to place a gnd via close by, refresh pours. now draw rather thick traces from pad to this via on both sides. Do not refresh pour, don't do error check. export gerber. But what is the offical way to connect power gnd and digital/analog gnd at one point? This trace going...

Re: Comment about SMT R and C patterns

Just for general information--some may find it useful... ... Tantalum "A", aka 2316, aka DipTrace TC_3216: 1.8mm (Note the DipTrace number probably has the first two digits transposed...) ... Oops...sorry, it really is 3216. It appears I found a mistake in a manufacturer's data sheet! Sorry. Also, ...

Comment about SMT R and C patterns

Just for general information--some may find it useful... I'm working on a design I'll have reflow-soldered in a modern SMT assembly line. To insure that the parts solder correctly and the contract manufacturer won't be able to blame me for wrong pad sizes, I did some research. I found recommended pa...

Re: How do I reset cross hair or is it a bug

Well, if it's really _everything_ you want to move, isn't that the same as moving the origin the opposite direction? But in any event, you _should_ be able to just use the mouse to "click and drag" a huge rectangle over everything and select it all. Or, you can use the Windows keyboard shortcut of "...

Re: How do I reset cross hair or is it a bug

It looks to me like you have moved everything on the bottom layer, without moving anything on the top layer... You get the same sort of effect if you have a bunch of parts in a layout, all on one side of the board and all routed together, and you grab part of them and move them. The interconnecting ...

Re: How to make Schematic interconnection

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish with the component you created. If you simply wish to have two lines on different parts of a schematic (even on different pages) electrically connected together, then all you need to do is give them the same net name. It is also possible to...
