Hello all

How do you cut out a portion of the copper pour? Meaning I have my bottom layer (as ground) that is done with a copper pour. I would like to cut out specific areas of that and remove the metal. I would think it was rather straight forward but I'm pretty new at all of this and I couldn't find anything specific in the tutorial.

Thanks

jom

Hi Jom,

Add route keepout where you want to delete copper and update the copper pour.

Thanks

I'm a bit new to this but I was able to do what you said. One concern though...with the "keepout" layer placed it blanks out the board outline layer in places (due to the keepout being a rectangle and the outline being slightly curved). Is this a concern?

Just curious.

Thanks

jom

Hi Jom,

Route keepouts have no affect on board outline. If these objects are overlapped each other, board outline is not changed.
