Change attached pattern on several components

#1 Post by rasole » 11 Aug 2010, 08:43

Hi there

Is it possible to change the attached pattern to several components at once?

Thanks

It is unclear what you are asking.

Maybe you are asking if you can make multiple changes in the patterns in a *.lib file, and have those changes easily propagate to the Schematic or Component Editor. I made a suggestion for a related feature in http://www.diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=80

Maybe you are asking if you can have a change, such as hole size or pad size, apply to each of several patterns without having to make the change in each pattern. That seems like a less likely interpretation.

If either of these are what you mean, I am pretty sure the answer is no.

In Schematic program, you can attach pattern for similar components (same type) at once. To do it, select "similar type components" from drop-down box on attached pattern dialog window.

I had to change all my resistors from smt to thru hole. Some of them were in odd ball locations but the ones that were next to each other, 8 accross and 8 under neith(also across ,16 total) I was able to click/select all of them and did attach pattern of RES400 and it worked. If that helps.
