Board Cutout layer option

#1 Post by Tomg » 07 Sep 2017, 01:16

There have been some recent posts inquiring about how to implement a limited-depth PCB cutout in Diptrace (see the links below). It would be helpful to add a layer selection option to the Board Cutout layer for limiting the cutout depth; similar to how it is done for blind/buried vias. This new feature could be used for special cases like embedded ICs (die cavities) and thermal cutouts on selected signal/plane layers. Have it default to the standard cutout (all layers) when the drawing object is first placed into the PCB layout. Bringing up the Shape Properties dialog window would make this new option available to the user as suggested in the attached illustration.

I just use mechanical layers with comments for the board house.
My rhombicosidodecahedron is bigger than yours.
