18650 batteryholder

#1 Post by JeroenDeBuffel » 07 Oct 2016, 03:55

Hello,

Does anybody know if an 18650 batteryholder (PCB pattern / component) is available in Diptrace?
Basically I am looking for the 1042 or 1043 Keystone batteryholder model

Thanks,
Jeroen

It looks like the standard DipTrace libraries do not include the battery holders you need. I've attached a pattern library named Keystone.lib which contains two custom patterns for Keystone battery holder models 1042 and 1043. I cannot guarantee a proper fit or fire resistance, so double-check all dimensions against the manufacturer's datasheets before using. Insert the two patterns into your own custom battery holder pattern library, create two custom battery components and link each one to its respective custom pattern. The following link will take you to where you can download the 3D models for the two patterns - https://grabcad.com/library/battery-holder-4#!

*** EDIT ***

I made some minor changes to the dimensions in the 1043 battery holder pattern and replaced the attached library file with the updated version. If I remember correctly, the most important dimension (for the "key" hole) was off by 0.06 mm. Probably not enough to make a difference in the real world, but it seems like it might be a good idea to match the manufacturer's drawings.
