Placement of patterns via coordinates.

#1 Post by __red__ » 21 Jun 2013, 03:45

Greetings.

I need to place a large number of LEDs in a circle. I've built a simple spreadsheet which gives me X, Y and Angle for each component.

I understand I can just enter the values by hand in the properties window (and I'll do so if I have to). Is there a way to import X,Y,Angle verses RefDes?

I'm not adverse to writing code to edit the .dip file if needed.

Thanks,

REd

There is no way to import X, Y, angle coordinates.

If LEDs should be placend evenly on perimeter of a circle, you can create one pattern for all LEDs. There is "Place Pad Circle" tool in Pattern editor. Create two pad circles with different radius but the same number of pins and combine pad circles in one pattern.
