I am trying to test the Mac version out. Everything seems to install fine. I can run pattern and component editors. If I try to run either schematic or layout I see the splash screen and it just hangs there with hourglass icon. I'm running OSX Lion with the latest X11 2.7.0. Does anyone have any idea how I might get this running?

Curious. Initially mine was hanging also (Lion but older X11). Once I upgraded to the newest X11 (actually XQuartz : http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X112.7.0) though it all started working. Are you sure that it is actually starting up your new install of X11?

I had installed that earlier. But I reinstalled again and restarted. It works! Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem, and this fix worked for me too. The version of X11 I had (presumably installed with OS X Lion, I don't think I've ever downloaded a separate X package) was:

XQuartz 2.6.3 (xorg-server 1.10.3)

Now I can get into the schematic capture component with this version of X11:

XQuartz 2.7.1 (xorg-server 1.11.4)

Just thought it was worth documenting for other Mac users who will undoubtedly hit the same problem.

Looking forward to trying this software out. I saw it demoed on eeevblog.com and it looked easier to get into than a certain bird-named program.

I have been using TW3 for some time now and suddenly, Im not sure why, the startup screen splash screen that comes up when starting, wont go away. The message Initializing. Please, wait... is in the lower left hand part of the screen. The program still runs but the initialization screen wont go away. Any suggestions?
