Hi All
I have recently been trying to get Solder Masks printed. (Other posts to this effect).
However when trying to sort out some of the problems with the masks I came accross this strange anomoly. I guess it could be called a bug, but I really do not like using that term if I do not understand the software.
Anyhow what I discovered was, if a PCB Pattern contains a Polygon shape, then a Mask is not produced. I found this by opening a part to be altered and say clicked on Pin 1. In the Type/Dimensions box under Shape, there is Ellipse, Oval, Rectangle and Polygon. ALL of the shapes except Polygon produce a mask. The Polygon just produces an outline of the pad.
I produce the Solder Mask from this Post http://www.diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11423 with the answer from TOMG.
Hopefully this can be fixed along with my request for the ability to print a Mask from Print Preview with this post. http://www.diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11428.
Thanks again for a great product.
Mike

Part Polygon problem

Re: Part Polygon problem
Hi Mike,
For the import portion of the procedure, try enabling the [X]Fill closed areas option when bringing in the mask. Let me know if that helps.
