I have a library from Eagle with a part I wanted, I fired up Eagle, used the library, created a schematic and board placing the symbol and pads. Next I ran the ULP scripts and saved the DipTrace versions of the symbol and pads. Last I imported the symbol and pads or I should say I tried. While hunting down a reason for the failure I found a post about 3.n DT not working with any version of Eagle above 7.2, I had 7.4 and 7.7 is out. After hunting for a while I found a link to archived version of Eagle (Now owned my AutoDesk) and downloaded version 7.2. To make this short, it failed, same error, Incorrect library format.

I don't know if the eagle library itead.cc provided is broken, it works for Eagle, or if there is another issue, see attached.
85.brd and 85.sch is the Eagle generated files used with 7.4
85brd.asc and 85sch.asc are the files generated by the ULP scripts with 7.4
p85brd.asc and p85sch.asc are the files generated by the UPL scripts with 7.2
ITEAD.lbr original Eagle library
I included both ulp scripts in the archive.

I have DipTrace 3.0.0.2. Schematic program imports both 85sch.asc and p85sch.asc. PCB Layout imports both 85brd.asc and p85brd.asc. No issues occur while the imports.
What DipTrace version do you have? Do you import the files in Schematic and PCB Layout? If you try to do it in Component and Pattern editors that explains the failures.

D'ho :? While thinking symbol and pad I of course tried to imported them as Component and Pattern, the learning curve is long here. Been watching the Guided Tour videos, amazing trace editing, the net classes and via styles make the pad stack easy.

Thanks
