Pasting an object with right mouse click -> 'Paste' works as expected, however pasting with Ctrl+V results in creating a new object next to the original one.

This seems odd - Ctrl+V should paste the object at mouse coordinates.

This is not bug. Ctrl+V and right click+paste work differently and we did it intentionally.

Thanks, Alex.

I believe this feature is called 'Duplicate' in other packages. Perhaps you might consider adding a hotkey called 'duplicate' and make Ctrl+V paste the way it normally does?
That way you could paste without making additional mouse clicks, and if user wants he could assign 'duplicate' to Ctrl+V.
