I'm trying to import a simple DXF file containing through hole locations (circles with center marks) and a single component outline (also a circle) into the Pattern Editor of version 2.4.0.2, into a new library.

The file (see attached) was created using ProgeCAD 2009, saved as a 2007 binary dxf file. When importing I receive an "Access violation at address 00657D65 in module 'PattEdit.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFC."

I noticed that a very similar error was reported previously on the Bug Reports forum with an earlier version. Any idea if I should upgrade to version 2.9 (even though it's in beta)?

Love DipTrace! Thanks for all the hard work!

You can save the drawing to DXF ASCII file (not binary) and import it in the Pattern editor. You can stay with version 2.4 if it can import DXF ASCII file.
