I created a footprint and tried to associate a 3D model with it. It started the process of opening it and created some file in the same director as the original model but as it was about to display it said that the file was in use by another process (my original model or the temp file ?).

Yet when i tried to open a 3d model of my board and i went to manually assign the 3D model again i found it already loaded. Now you can't blame the model this time because it loaded 2nd time, something is wrong with the import during footprint creation.

I have the same problem with some 3D files. I get the error message that the file is being used by another process, when it is not.

I solved the problem. I started using proteus, although I have not used their 3D functionality yet.

The error message may appear if one or more 3D models have unsupported format. Could you send DipTrace board file and custom 3D models to support at diptrace dot com.
