Import from OrCad Capture won't be added in the beta version. But it may appear in the stable version this Autumn.

I also am waiting for Orcad schematic import before I can justify a purchase or recommend it to my clients. I am a contracting engineer and have recommending power to almost every electronics company in Santa Barbara - nearly 60 percent have a library of Orcad schematics and designs that need tweaking.

Please accelerate this! I have had to recommend Altium and you are quickly losing market share, as Orcad has been very popular in the past.

Missing out on potential market share might be a better statement. One can not lose what one does not already have.

Couldn't agree more...just missed out on my cash! I would have gladly parted with the couple hundred dollars for a solid package, but OrCAD import is critical. Rather opted for a free package that ALSO doens't allow OrCAD import, but the cash is still in my wallet!

Another vote for ORCAD import - I have dozens of old files where DipTrace would make maintenence a whole lot easier.

We are working on import Orcad schematic files. Import Layout files (MIN Interchange format) is possible in current version.

I am in need of the capability to export to OrCAD Capture. The export to OrCAD PCB seems to work, but there is no export to OrCad Schematic Capture. I have tried various and many ways (e.g. via PCAD export) but nothing seems to work.

Hello
Sorry for reviving this rather old thread, but I thought that I'll add my "wishful comments" here...

The "import from OrCAD" functionality is REALLY the major driver for me to decide whether I purchase a licence of DipTrace or not.
There are other issues I have in mind, but since I have not used your product extensively yet, it might be my misunderstanding and no issues at all.
At a first glance, I find Diptrace nice and if one throws the price in the equation.... excellent!
So to wrap it up, is there any date or timeline about the "import from OrCAD" feature?
By import, I mean, max files, capture schematics, libraries etc.

Thank you in advance

Greg

We are working on import OrCAD feature. Most things are ready, but OrCAD schematic supports hierarchy and it requires great attention. Then we will test the feature carefully. Therefore we don't know exact date when the import will be ready.
