Export PNG from 3D render screen

#1 Post by tartan5 » 07 Jul 2017, 08:24

It would be great to be able to export the top and bottom views of the 3d render as a png image. Ideally the view would be without perspective, so that the PNG could be applied to a surface in 3D modeling tools (like Fusion 360) as a decal.

Thanks
Howard

A quick .png export of top and bottom (sans components) would be helpful. Here's a previous thread discussing ways of doing this now:
http://www.diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9994
The method I use that I outlined in that thread is actually quick and painless.

Previously I've requested that the 3D view for both the pattern editor and PCB viewer have the option of orthographic (no perspective) views. It would help with pattern alignment and verifying spacing, etc. At the time, DipTrace stated they did not plan to implement that option.

Engineering/CAD uses orthographic views. Art and some illustrations make use of perspective views.

Exporting the copper, mask, and silk layers (combined) at a user selectable DPI (150, 300, 600 etc) PNG file would be great for the Decals.....

I would second this request. It would be helpful in producing documentation for those without 3D packages.
