Custom grids are just for show ?

#1 Post by SparkyLabs » 30 Sep 2015, 01:12

I am sick of being lied to by diptrace. I am trying to create a footprint. I want 4 holes in a square spaced exactly 20mm apart. Despite creating a custom grid this is not happening. Even with a 10mm grid the centres are not 20mm apart. This i think is because YOUR HORRIBLE USELESS SOFTWARE is still working in inches "under the hood" and even with 0.159mm grids (yea that is not metric is it you liars it's just imperial converted to metric). i cannot achieve an exact multiple to get 10mm.
When will you fix this and when will you stop lying about the capability of your shit software ? I have wasted my money buying this software and now have to seriously consider Ki-CAD and screw you! Because now i will look stupid in front of my boss!

Apparently I have to enter the coordinates manually. I tried a 10mm grid with snap to grid and it was not right at all.

I use Through-hole pads as it support snap to grid, it works fine.

-I always use 0.05 mm as my main grid, and 0.01 mm if it need tighter tolerance, swift the pads around using ARROW keys.

-After I lay down all my pads , do Ctrl+Alt+C (Center) , and finally lay the component outline ,only in this sequence.
