This is the first component I have designed in Diptrace.
I want to use this blade fuse holder in the datasheet below on my PCB, and had to design the pattern.

This is something new to me, and i find it quite fiddly with having to add X and Y positions to line everything up
Im more used to solidworks, which i could draw something up much easier, my question is how do you go about importing a DXF into Diptrace and telling Diptrace what parts of the sketch are the pads and silkscreen etc?
As you can see in the attached library, the gap is very narrow in the centre, I dont know if there is a better way to have drawn this or not, i would have preferred something circular, but had to go with polygon to get the shape i needed.

In the PCB Layout editor: File > Import > DXF...
Connecting pads in the Pattern Editor will result in DRC violations in the PCB Layout editor. I suggest creating four separate pads with the associated silkscreen surround in the Pattern Editor, electrically connect pin-1 to pin-2, and pin-3 to pin-4 in the Component Editor, and place traces (width = outer diameter of pad); one between pin-1 and pin-2, and a second between pin-3 and pin-4 in the PCB Layout editor.nzoomed wrote:"...i would have preferred something circular..."

Thanks for that, yes this is sort of what I was trying to achieve.
I am aware of importing DXF into Diptrace, but am not sure how it handles them.
I hope to play around with this soon.
